Did you know?

Wedding weather and time throughout history
In the northern hemisphere, June has always been the most popular choice of month in which to hold a wedding, but what most people don’t realise is that history has some origins in this.

Weatherwise, they say it’s good luck if it rains on your wedding day. Personally I believe somebody came up with this one just to calm down some overly anxious bride. It was overcast all day long when I tied the knot and I was told by the photographer that it was great because it’s better lighting for them.

Historically, bad weather on the way means the marriage will be an unhappy one, with a combination of wind and cloudy skies to make the marriage quite a turbulent one. Snow on the other-hand, pure and white, signifies fertility and prosperity!

How Much Money Should I Give Them For A Wedding Gift?

Ah, the age old question....
Well, we here at The Wedding Envelope.com have come up with a solution to all this by creating a wedding gift calculator. After sifting through countless hours of wedding data based on location in the United States & now Canada, we finally came up with a formula that calculates the approximate amount of money you should give a couple for their wedding gift. How it works is that we took into account the most important cost factors of a wedding and then factored in the average out-of-pocket costs to you, the guest, creating a unique monetary amount that you should give as your wedding gift to the newlyweds. Please remember this is but a suggested monetary gift. You should always give with your heart, as well as what you can afford. And as always, please stuff that envelope responsibly!
